Restylane in Los Angeles
What is Restylane?
Restylane is a derivative of hyaluronic acid that comes in a clear gel formulation and is injected underneath or into the skin to restore volume for the depressed parts of a patient’s features, or to alleviate the appearance of moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. Because it is made up of a highly biocompatible hyaluronic acid base, the incidences of adverse reaction with Restylane are very minimal, making it an ideal choice for our patients at the Los Feliz MedSpa in Los Angeles, CA. It acts very much like the body’s naturally occurring hyaluronic acid, instantly hydrating the affected areas to visibly smooth out facial folds, nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the patient’s mouth, and marionette lines, and add definition and fullness to the indicated areas.
How is it used?
The doctor determines the trouble areas where Restylane will be administered and these areas can be numbed using a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Small amounts of the Restylane will then be injected into these areas and distributed evenly using very gentle pressure. This procedure is often used to treat the deeper wrinkles around the patient’s mouth- the nasolabial folds, the corners of the mouth, and the marionette lines. Each session will take about 45 minutes to complete depending on the extent of correction to be done.
How long will the results last?
The results obtained with the initial treatment with Restylane will be immediately noticeable right after the procedure and can last for up to 9 months, with outcomes varying from patient to patient. Usually, follow up injections will be required to maintain the initial results at the 9 and 18-month marks of the treatment plan.
What are the side effects?
The typical side effects manifested by Restylane include redness, swelling itchiness, and bruising at the injection sites. These are expected to improve within a week after the injections, unveiling the actual results of the procedure.
Restylane Lyft in Los Angeles
What is Restylane Lyft?
Restylane Lyft is a dermal filler that is a hyaluronic acid derivative recommended by the experts at the Los Feliz MedSpa in Los Angeles, CA for use in the treatment of facial lines and wrinkles. It is ideal in softening the appearance of the nasolabial folds and other deeper creases around the patient’s face as well. In comparison to Restylane, Restylane Lyft is composed of larger particles that are intended for injection into the deeper layers of the skin to treat the patient’s deeper wrinkles. The hyaluronic acid gel matrix of Restylane Lyft is able to attract water into the affected areas in order to hydrate skin layers and support the volume augmentation.
How does Restylane Lyft work?
In order to alleviate the appearance of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, Restylane Lyft is injected directly into the lower skin layers where it can plump up the skin by attracting and binding to water molecules. As the indicated areas become more hydrated, the wrinkles will begin to be smoothed away to reveal firmer, younger looking skin that glows. The patient should be able to notice significant improvement on the treated areas within 1 to 2 days after the injections. The number and dosage of injections will depend upon the extent of the area to be treated and is identified individually for each patient. Each treatment session will require about 30 to 45 minutes to complete, with very minimal downtime.
